A new chapter in regulated digital finance begins now, as we are thrilled to announce, that Micar Assets, the company, majority-owned by Myriad Capital, has been granted a CASP (Crypto-Asset Service Provider) licence by the Bank of Lithuania.
This marks a significant milestone in the company’s development and in Lithuania’s evolving digital asset landscape.
Micar Assets is among the first Lithuanian-capital crypto-asset companies to receive such a licence.
The licence authorises Micar Assets to safeguard and administer clients’ crypto-assets, exchange crypto-assets into funds or other crypto-assets, execute crypto-asset-related orders, and provide additional crypto-asset services across Lithuania and the European Union.
The company’s principal shareholder, Myriad Capital, is a Lithuanian capital financial brokerage firm with over ten years of successful experience in financial markets, offering its clients investment opportunities in more than 90 global markets.
Gediminas Trumpis, CEO of Micar Assets and Myriad Capital, comments:
“The crypto-asset service provider licence opens a new horizon of opportunities and marks a strategic stage in our expansion across Europe. Micar Assets will provide services to both private and corporate clients, offering crypto-asset services to retail as well as professional investors.
The crypto-asset sector is at the beginning of a structural transformation. A clearer regulatory framework is emerging, market maturity is strengthening, and investor expectations continue to evolve. We see this period as a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the development of a sustainable and responsible digital asset ecosystem.
Our objective is to operate as a long-term, regulated and trusted partner, enabling clients to participate in the rapidly developing digital finance market safely and efficiently. We appreciate the recognition and confidence demonstrated by the Bank of Lithuania, particularly as we are among the first companies to receive this type of licence in Lithuania.”
At this important milestone, Micar Assets extends its sincere appreciation to Myriad Capital, Jurga Dūdėnė and Skirmantė Umbrasė, the Baltic law firm Walless and Gediminas Rečiūnas, Gina Petkevičiūtė the Datastyle project team, Violeta Čirkova as well as financial markets professional Virginijus Doveika for their expertise and contribution throughout the licensing process.
To date, the Bank of Lithuania has issued only four licences of this kind. In addition, crypto-asset service providers licensed in other EU Member States and duly notified to operate in Lithuania are also entitled to provide such services in the country.
According to data from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), Lithuania currently ranks second in the Nordic-Baltic region by the number of issued crypto-asset service provider licences. Finland has issued five such licences, Latvia two, and Sweden one.
